








Kajaliya is mainly a tradition of Bundelkhand & Mahakoushal. Its a festival of social gathering. This is celebrated on the second day of Raksha Bandhan. On the day of Nag Panchami, they fill mud bowl with the soil which is brought from their field and the wheat is sown in them with manure. When these small seedlings of wheat are grown, it is estimated that how much crop will grow this year and the small plant of wheat is called Kajaliya. This festival is considered as a symbol of happiness prosperity in the society. On the day of Kajaliya celebration. They take their kajaliya pots to the riverside and separate them from the soil. Mostly this process is completed by women of each house and then they put kajaliya to the upper side of men's ears and others family members. As an omen men's give gift and money to the women. Villagers celebrate and wish each other as a good luck by putting Kajaliya.
